Digital marketing, Social media

Which social networks to use?

Zapiplay

Social networks are part of our daily lives. According to April 2016 data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau Spain (IAB Spain), social networks in Spain have 15.4 million users.

At Zapiplay we have an expert team in digital strategy and social media that will be involved in your project from the beginning and will be in constant contact with you.

Remember that being community manager is much more than knowing your way around Facebook or Instagram, and the damage that poor management can do to your brand or company can be irreparable. And for proof, here's a button.

Therefore, as business owners, we need to know that they can help us to build customer loyalty and grow our business. But, which is the network in which it is best for us as hoteliers to be present? First we have to know which one our customers are on and then what we can do in each one. Social networks are a place of conversation and users want to know things about us, such as promotions, events, etc.

Facebook, the leader

It is the great leader of social networks. In Spain, women aged between 40 and 55 make up the main audience of users. You can share the menu of the day, the most elaborate dishes on the menu, explain some pairing tips for your special dishes, inform about promotions, discounts, carry out raffles, create your own ads...

Remember that, as a business, you should open a page instead of using a user profile. From this page you will have access to statistics and behavioural data of your users (e.g. visits to your page, which post has the highest reach, etc.). This way you will know through Facebook what your fans/customers are most interested in and you can use this information in your business strategy.

Whastapp, the favourite

It has gone from being a messaging application to a social network. It has 8.5 million users, most of them women, and you can find really interesting uses, such as creating groups according to the interests of your users and sharing the menu, special discounts for them, informing them of your holidays... Of course, you have to make it very clear in each group that you are the administrator and propose a decalogue of good manners of use. If you take care of these groups you will have a direct and effective promotional channel with your customers.

Twitter gives you a game with #ags

It seems incredible how much can be said in just 140 characters. The latest studies show a more masculine profile of this network. A very popular use is to hold periodic contests in which users have to use a keyword or tag (hashthag). You can raffle a special drink, for example. Don't forget to join the Trending Topics to get noticed and it can also be a good idea to interact with local entities, especially when they are holding an activity.

Instagram, queen of images

Photos and videos. That's what users are sharing and that's what Instagram offers. In hospitality it is a real opportunity because there is always a nice photo that we can share and customise with the filters and effects of this network.
For example, he shares unique details of the decoration of the restaurant, tapas, drinks, delicious dishes with a finger-licking presentation...

Instagram is the favourite of women and young people aged 16 to 30 and continues to grow in popularity. The latest big new feature is stories: videos that are deleted in 24 hours that can be a great way to keep the attention of our followers.

Snapchat, if your audience is young

If you have a venue with a majority of customers between 18 and 34 years old, the smartphone is just another communication channel. Snapchat started out as a messaging app with videos that are deleted within 24 hours and has become a hit. It has more than 100 million active users and is preferred by young people for the privacy of their profiles.

Place your user icon at the entrance of your venue, in the flyers and promos you make, and allow them to add you. You can offer small videos that are editable with emoticons and text. You will reach your customers directly with unique content.

Spotify to boost engagement

Although it was born as a music channel, Spotify is already considered a social network. It is second in terms of time of use. Open a profile and create your own music playlists.

If your customers like what you play, it will strengthen their bond with your establishment. They will surely want to keep listening to you when they are at work, at the beach, travelling... Share playlists (music lists) of bands that are played in your place, or that might play there! You can also follow some of your customers and discover their tastes to keep them loyal to you.

At Zapiplay we are experts in the management of social networks for companies and in each one of our unlimited marketing plans we include everything your business needs.
